Our Philosophy

Why Become a Part of Radiology Rules?

In order to get really good at something, you have to do that thing. What does that mean in veterinary diagnostic imaging? It means in order to get good at reading and interpreting radiographs, you have to read and interpret lots and lots of radiographs.

Using her experience teaching radiology in the classroom for over 10 years, Dr. Charles has moved traditional in-person radiology rounds to an online format that will give members of our community the opportunity to practice reading and interpreting lots of cases. In so doing, we will all get really good at doing that thing.

Students

In School

“For some reason, learning radiology can be an intimidating thing. My experience with hundreds of students has convinced me they need the opportunity to practice and try the skills sets associated with reading and interpreting films. RadiologyRules is the practice field where they can put what they are learning in school to the test in an encouraging community. I saw it work beautifully in the classroom so I’m convinced RadiologyRules will be no different!”

Professionals

In Clinic

Even if you are already a practicing veterinarian, it is always great to continue practicing and working on your craft. Our upper-level classes are more challenging and are great practice for anyone already working in clinic.

In short, I’m an Adidas wearing, hip hop dancing veterinary radiologist who wants to change the world by cultivating a community of leaders through curiosity, creative conversations, and connection. What are the specifics? I hold a doctorate of veterinary medicine with advanced residency training in diagnostic imaging as well as a master’s degree in organizational leadership. I am passionate about teaching and my favorite place to be is in the classroom helping others learn and grow. My favorite things to teach? All things diagnostic imaging and all things leadership development.

I absolutely love words and the diagnostic process which is why I landed in this specialty. I also believe we can all describe what we see and then rank our differentials appropriately. My hope is RadiologyRules will give us all the opportunity to practice doing just that and I might throw in some leadership thoughts along the way. Buckle up!! This community is going to be awesome!!

“In Order To Get Good At Something, You Have To Do That Thing. RadiologyRules Is All About Doing That Thing- Reading Lots Of Films And Learning In The Process. Oh, And Maybe Having A Bit Of Fun!!”
