Study

Describe the views included, the anatomy being imaged and the type of patient undergoing examination.

Patient Positioning

Evaluate whether the patient is positioned properly for adequate interpretation. Use specific anatomic considerations when making your assertion about whether the patient is positioned correctly. Make note of any changes that need to be made to maximize patient positioning.

Technique

Evaluate whether the study technique is adequate for interpretation. In other words, is the exposure correct? Is it overexposed, underexposed or just right? If not appropriate, make suggestions about how to better acquire the images for better technique. Note whether any ALARA violations are present.

Findings

Describe all your findings. Your findings are descriptions built on the foundation of Roentgen signs- size, shape, position/location, margin/contour, opacity, number.

Conclusions

Next Steps

Are there any additional imaging suggestions that would help clarify your findings? Are there critical next steps to take from a stabilization/management/treatment plan standpoint?
